Ongoing Programmes

The ELTI, Mizoram has the following ongoing programmes:-

1. Teacher Enrichment programme for High School teachers

2. Workshop on Materials Preparation for Activity Based learning in Class I

It recently organised a training of Key Resource persons in ELT for Lecturers of District Resource Centres.

Awareness Programme in ELT for Headmasters

The ELTI, SCERT, Mizoram organised an awareness programme in ELT for Headmasters of Primary, Middle and High Schools on handbook forthe 2nd, 3rd and 4th February, 2010. More than 300 Headmasters from all over the state attended the programme. Mr Chawngtinthanga, the hon'ble Parliamentary Secretary of School Education was the Chief guest on the programme for headmasters of Middle School.

Mr Lalsawta, the Hon'ble Education Minister graced the programme for Headmasters of high School as the Chief Guest. he released a Teacher's Handbook for Class VIII English textbook prepared and published by the ELTI.

The Birth of ELTI, Mizoram

The English Language Teaching Institute (ELTI) was set up at the SCERT in Mizoram on 12 October, 2001 by the government of Mizoram. It has come a long way since then. Watch this space for programmes and activities of the ELTI in Mizoram
